Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good afternoon, My CT scan report reads, 1. Deviated nasal septum to left side. 2. Mucosal thickening in bilateral maxillary, ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses. 3. Blocked osteomeatal complex of left maxillary sinus. Am I in a serious problem? What are possible treatments? Thank You.
Coming to deviated nasal septum, it's a normal thing in nearly 60 per cent of the population. Mucosal thickening may be due to infection of sinuses. Blocked osteomeatal complex indicates that the outlet of your sinus is blocked. So, whatever is secreted inside your sinuses is unable to come out and is getting accumulated inside the sinus and causes you head ache and other symptoms.
You need not worry much about this result. Consult an ENT expert and he will guide you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Yasam Lavanya,
